With over twenty years of active duty military service, Anthony has planned and participated in military operations around the world, from small team tactics to large-scale joint military operations. He has employed the concepts of effective leadership, trained junior officers and NCOs in personal development and organizational improvement, and advised senior leaders in the areas of Quality and Organizational Strategic Planning.
For the first ten years of his military career he served in special operations as a Pararescueman. Following that he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant and served the remainder of his career as a Air Battle Manager on board the AWACS airplane and at Mobile Tactical Radar Units
Throughout his military career he has balanced operational roles and experiences with the need and understanding those experiences had to be shared with others to prepare them to one day replace him and others in the field. He continues today using the same approach and methods to train adults to be industry leaders, military officers, front line supervisors, junior and senior executives, and individuals seeking to be extraordinary in all they do.
Today Anthony is a inspirational speaker, trainer and consultant. Anthony has conducted seminars and given inspirational speeches across the nation and internationally on subjects of leadership, management, strategic planning, continuous improvement processes, project management, experiential teambuilding, effective communication and personal success.
His powerful and highly charged motivational presence does not come from standing behind a lectern, but by taking you on a journey of discovery with his energetic audience participation, and thought provoking dialog. Equally comfortable presenting a 6 hour seminar or after-dinner keynote, Anthony clearly defines for you how to achieve success through personal leadership coupled with leading others in order to reach successive goals. He inspires business leaders, executives, supervisors and frontline employees to not simply be good at what they do - - but to be extraordinary.
Anthony uses his incredible passion, and ability to communicate, to illustrate his principles for leadership and success - "Extraordinary leaders have extraordinary character . . . with extraordinary character they are NOT AFRAID." At home, at work, across the nation and around the world - we need extraordinary leaders.
Whether in the classroom or the boardroom, on a challenge course or on a stage, Anthony’s dynamic approach sets the course for organizational improvement as well as personal and professional growth.
Anthony has conducted seminars and given motivational speeches across the nation to thousands of participants and hundreds of clients Here’s what a few of them had to say.
“Anthony gave me the tools I need to be successful in my job” – Brian Smith, Trainer Chevron-Texaco
“I was extremely impressed. Anthony was concise and able to relate everything to examples in life. Outstanding!” – Jason Seedig, Director New West Foods
“Outstanding job presenting the information, effective use of exercises and experiences” – Ron Stewart, Auto Zone
“Team Challenge is a valuable tool in building teams. Senior leaders had been at Tinker less than a year and had precious little time to get to know each other – we need to do this more often and where it last longer” – Brigadier General Smolen, USAF

As a Federal Government program manager, Rhino planned and established his agency’s professional development program, handled multi-million dollar budgets and led the way with strategic planning initiatives . After leaving the Federal government Rhino joined his wife, engaging in a retail business. Provoked by internet chat about “helping vets” he eventually challenged Anthony Tormey, CEO of Leader Development Institute to help found The New Terrain Foundation with a host of other concerned veterans and stakeholders. The rest as they say is history.
